October in the Studio: Welcoming Fall with Art, Color, and Community

🍂 A Season of Momentum and Meaning
October has arrived with the promise of cooler mornings, future exploration, and a renewed sense of inspiration. In my studio — and throughout the Wilmington art community — this season feels especially alive with creativity, connection, and change.
I’m thrilled to share that two of my original oil paintings — Sunflower Field and Hydrangeas Still Life — have been accepted into the 10th Annual ARTFall Show & Sale at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center. Both will be on display and available for purchase October 17–18 & 20–25 (10am–5pm daily). Admission is free and open to the public.
This juried event celebrates the vibrant art scene here in Wilmington, and I’m so honored to be part of it. If you’re local, I’d love for you to stop by and see these pieces in person. There’s truly nothing like viewing artwork up close. It’s a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the colors, compositions, and textures that make each piece unique — and to admire the work of so many talented artists in our community.

🌿 Community, Connection, and Gratitude
One of my favorite things about being an artist is the connection — not just to nature, paint, and canvas, but to the people who make up this creative community. I’m continually grateful for the local partnerships, collectors, friends, family, and fellow artists who support and inspire me.
From local exhibitions to collaborative projects, each opportunity reminds me of the purpose behind my work: to bring comfort, peace, and beauty into everyday spaces.
I’m honored to have a large 26x36” gallery-wrapped canvas print of South End Sunset on display as part of Hope Community Church’s art ministry. This quarterly installation features artwork in the church’s newly renovated building. I love that this print now lives in a place designed to inspire worship, reflection, and connection. It’s also available for purchase, with 20% of proceeds donated back to the church. (Photos of the installation coming soon!)
I’m also thrilled that several of my artworks were accepted by the Novant Health Design Team for possible inclusion in the new Scotts Hill Medical Center (opening in 2026). Their kind words meant so much:
We are honored to celebrate your creativity and to bring it into spaces where it will inspire comfort, reflection, and hope.
This beautifully echoes the heart and intention behind my work.

🎨 Behind the Studio: My Art Prints Get a Lovely Makeover
In addition to preparing for ARTFall, my art prints recently received the most lovely makeover — and I can’t wait for you to see them.
After much research and refinement, I’m now working with a local fine art studio here in Wilmington to offer archival-quality Giclée prints of my original oil paintings. Each piece has been professionally scanned for even greater color accuracy, detail, and vibrancy. Every brushstroke and hue now translates beautifully onto print.
✨ What is a Giclée print?
The French word Giclée (meaning “to spray”) refers to fine art reproductions created with archival-quality inks and papers. When properly cared for, they’re designed to last 100+ years without fading — capturing the color, texture, and depth that make oils so special.
My collectors can now enjoy artwork that feels remarkably close to the originals — at a more attainable price point. Prints are currently available online with updated sizes and pricing coming soon. I’ll continue offering prints in your choice of three rich and lovely mediums:
- Watercolor paper (velvety texture and matte finish)
- Unstretched canvas (real canvas and frames beautifully with, or without, the glass)
- Stretched gallery-wrapped canvas (ready to hang and timelessly elegant)

🍁A Closing Reflection
October reminds me that there is beauty in the change of seasons. Petals fall and leaves fade, making way for future blooms and new growth. Likewise, each brushstroke and layer of paint brings new life to a canvas.
Here’s to noticing the beauty all around us, celebrating moments of joy and gratitude, and letting creativity unfold in its own lovely rhythm.
