About the Artist

Welcome friend!

I’m Blair, an oil painter based in Wilmington, North Carolina. I create artwork inspired by faith, nature, and the ordinary moments of life that often reveal something extraordinary when we take time to notice.

By profession, I am also a registered nurse, and that work has shaped the way I see the world in lasting ways. Through nursing, I’ve practiced attention to detail, compassion for others, and gentleness with those I care for. Painting has become another way I express those same values, offering care and restoration through color, light, and story.

Much of my inspiration comes from the ocean, coastal scenery, and mountain views my family and I are blessed to experience while living in North Carolina. I’m especially drawn to sunrises over the water, wildflowers along a mountain path, and the golden glow of evening settling in after a long day. These moments often become the starting point for my paintings.

I work primarily in oil paint because of its depth, richness, and texture. Painting allows me to slow down and linger with a scene, translating what I encounter outdoors into something lasting. Each piece is created thoughtfully, whether it becomes an original painting or a fine art print meant to be lived with in a home.

Outside the studio, I love life in Wilmington and adventuring with my family. I’ve been married to my firefighter and veteran husband since 2007, and we are raising three wonderful children alongside our very loved studio pup, Duke.

Some parts of my story are quieter but deeply formative. I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for many years, and I am also a mother to a child with special needs. These lived experiences, along with my faith, have shaped a spirit of gentle strength, steadfastness, and perseverance. Art has become a place of healing for me, allowing space to process both beauty and challenge through paint.

Much of my work happens in the margins of everyday life, in early mornings, late evenings, and pockets of time carved out between family, work, and time outdoors. Those rhythms are part of the work too.

Painting, for me, is a bridge between the inner and outer landscape. Just as nursing seeks to restore the body, I hope my artwork offers restoration for the spirit. Each canvas is an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with beauty. My hope is that this work serves as a gentle reminder that peace and wonder are always present, waiting to be beheld.

Thank you for being here and for pausing to behold beauty with me.

With gratitude,

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19
