An evening at Carolina Beach, where sunset meets a rising moon.

“Carolina Twilight” was inspired by a beautiful summer evening at Carolina Beach. I had come with my family to watch the fireworks. While we were getting settled, I noticed the colors in the sky as the sun was setting and the moon was beginning to rise.

I remember thinking, I need to paint this.

I knew I wanted to capture that feeling of an evening sky, and working in pastel felt like the perfect medium to bring those colors and that atmosphere to life.

There was something about that moment that made me stop and really notice what was happening around me. The fading light, the colors across the sky, the moon beginning to appear, and the movement of the ocean below.

Sometimes a painting begins with a plan. But it always begins with noticing beauty in the ordinary.

Printed on flat, museum-quality canvas with a matte finish that is water-resistant and durable. Prints larger than 11x14 are shipped rolled and ready to frame with or without glass. A ¼-inch border is added outside the total dimensions of the artwork for matting or framing.

Stretched Canvas

Printed on museum-quality, gallery-wrapped canvas with a matte finish that is water-resistant and stretched over 0.75" bars. If desired, 1.5" stretcher bars are available upon request.
