Hiding Place — Fine Art Prints

A tender moment of stillness and safety — a reminder that we are seen, known, and held in perfect peace.

In creating this painting, I was inspired by many aspects of life — nature, my daughter, and Scripture. My reference photo for this piece was of a little fawn nestled among the grasses, spotted in my mother-in-law’s neighborhood. She looked so safe where her mother tucked her in — yet so vulnerable in the waiting for her mother’s return.

I later learned that a mother deer hides her fawn among tall grasses to protect her from predators while she forages for food, sometimes leaving her hidden for days. My daughter’s favorite animal is a deer, and I knew she would treasure this painting. She has already claimed it for her room!

This gentle scene also reminded me of the passage from Psalm 32:7–8:

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

What comfort there is in knowing that our Heavenly Father is always with us — He goes before us, watches over us, and never abandons us.
