A joyful reflection of summer, where beauty blooms in the simplest moments and details.

Sunflower Field was inspired by a summer visit to a local North Carolina farm with my family. I hold close the memory of my children, then five, three, and sixteen months old, wandering and toddling through rows of sunflowers that towered high above them. We picked flowers, watched butterflies and bees drift from bloom to bloom, and lingered in a moment that felt both ordinary and deeply meaningful.

As I painted this piece, I kept returning to the details of that day — the way light rested on the petals and the gentle movement of life all around us. It became a reminder to pause and truly see the beauty that is already present, especially in busy seasons of life.

Sunflower Field celebrates warmth, joy, and presence. My hope is that this painting carries that same sense of brightness and wonder wherever it is displayed.

Exhibition Information

This original oil painting is currently on exhibit at Gallery Citrine as part of the Wilmington Art Association Winter 2026 Exhibit.

During the exhibition period, all purchase inquiries must be made directly through Gallery Citrine, in accordance with exhibition guidelines. Local collectors are encouraged to visit the gallery to view the painting in person.
